Fishing
In order to start fishing you need a fishing pole. There are two different types of fishing. Shore fishing and sea fishing. Some fish can only be caught on the shore and other can only be caught out at sea. In addition to that, there are fish that can only be caught in certain areas or with certain bait or hooks. These are considered rare or legendary fish. Rare fish that are caught will have different weights. They will also be labeled with who caught the fish and the date it was caught. When fishing out at sea, you'll find that sometimes you'll pull up things other than fish. It could be something useless like shoes, or something extremely valuable such as a white pearl. When you pull up a sea serpent you have a chance of pulling up a either a message in a bottle or a special fishing net.

Lobster Traps
You can also fish with lobster traps. These can be purchased from a crab fisher NPC. To use these traps, double click them and place them in the water. When the trap is placed in the water, a buoy will be there to mark its location. You'll know when the trap has a lobster or crab in it because you will see the buoy bob. Each time that the bouy bobs, there is a chance that the trap will be lost.

Message in a bottle
When you find a message in a bottle, you need to double click it to read where the chest is. There are two types of chests that you can pull. A regular chest and an Ancient chest. You'll know if you will pull an ancient chest if the message in a bottle comes out white. The message in a bottle will give you sextant coordinates for where you'll be able to fish up the chest. Once you are at the location given to you by the sextant coordinate, you'll just need to start fishing. You'll know when you are in the right place when you start to fish up items recovered from a shipwreck. You'll keep fishing up items recovered from the shipwreck until you fish up the chest. Once you fish up the chest you'll have completed your message in a bottle.

Special Fishing Net
This is an item you'll find as loot. This net has a chance to bring up water elementals, sea serpents, deep sea serpents, and krakens.

Fabled Fishing Net
One of the items you'll get from an ancient Mob is a fabled fishing net. This fishing net will have a chance to pull up a Leviathan, or Osiredon. These creatures will bring with them other monsters from the sea. Osiredon is considered a super boss.
