<b>How to get started</b><BR>
There are a few ways That you can start growing plants.<br><BR>

<b>Buy pots from a provisioner</b><BR>
This is the most basic way to take care of plants. You buy the plant bowls from a provisioner. You fille it with dirt from a dirt mound or fertile dirt. Use pitchers of water to soften the dirt. Then plant a seed. You can then keep the plant bowl in your backpack or locked down in your house. If it is in a container in your house then the growth cycle will not occur. Each growth cycle will cause the plant to grow one stage. You will need to care for the plant for each stage. Failure to do so will result in your plant getting sick or dying. <BR><BR>
<b>Field Garden bed</b><BR>
These can be purchased with donation currency. There is no care that is required and plants will continue to grow until you remove them. Once the plant has produced its max seed or resource then it will not produce more. This field garden bed can be placed anywhere in a house and can be walked over.<BR><BR>
<b>Raised Garden Bed</b><Br>
This is also obtained with donation currency. This is functionally identical to the Field garden bed. The difference is that it is raised and cannot be walked over.

<b>How to find seeds</b><br><br>
Basic seeds are obtained from Bog Things and Boglings. The basic seeds are availible in Plain, yellow, red, and blue colors. These seeds produce the basic first generation breedable plants. These first generation plants can be cross pollinated to create new plant types and colors.  Colors are created in the same way as mixing paint, ie red + blue = purple, yellow + blue = green. Crossing two plants of the same color produces a bright version, ie red + red = bright red etc. Cross pollinating with a plain plant will always produce a plain result. <br>

Rare colored seeds can be obtained from the study of the solen hive quest line. These plants produce rare colored seeds that cannot be cross pollinated and do not produce seeds themselves.<br>

[[Fragrant and Peculiar seeds]] can also be found on certain creatures.  Fragrant seeds grow into cocoa trees and produce seeds and cocoa pulp. There are 18 different types of plants grown from peculiar seeds, determined by which monster group the seed came from. Most of these plants are ’decorative’ only, however poppies, cypress trees, sugar cane and flax each produce a resource, though no seeds.  Vanilla seeds produce both resources and seeds. These plants cannot be cross pollinated.<br>

Bonsai seeds can be found in the Feudal lands. There are four types ‘Common’, ‘Uncommon’, ‘Rare’, ‘Exceptional’ and ‘Exotic’. They can not be cross pollinated and produce no seeds<br>

There is a chance that you harvest a seed of renewal while tending to your plants. This is not a seed, but an imbuing ingredient.<br> 
What is the purpose of growing plants?<BR>
You can grow plants in a variety of colors. This can be used in decorating your houses. The other reason is to get resources for various other things. <br>

<b>Plant Resources</b><br>
<b>Red leaf</b>- This allows you to seal a book to make it so no one can write over it. It is obtained from bright Red Elephant Ear plants, bright red Ponytail palms, and bright red Century plants.<br>
<b>Orange Petals</b> - This allows you to be resistant to poison for 5 minutes. Can be obtained from Bright Orange Poppies, Bulrushes, and Pampass Grass. <br>
<b>Green Thorn</b> - Planting a green thorn will have varying results depending on where it is planted<Br>

Sand - Solen hive secret area<br>
Snow - Ice Worm<br>
Swamp - Whipping vine<br>
Dirt - Reagents<br>
<b>Cocoa Pulp</b> - Can be used  by cooks to produce chocolate Obtained from Fragrent seeds that are Cocoa trees<br>
<b>Poppy Dust</b> - Can be used to identify. Obtained from peculiar seeds that are Poppies<br>
<b>Bale of cotton</b> - Can be spun into spools of cotton. Obtained from peculiar seeds that are flax plants.<br>
<b>Sack of sugar</b> - Can be used by cooks to produce chocolate. Obtained from peculiar seeds that are sugar cane.<br>
<b>Bark Fragment</b> - can be used to make wood pulp. Obtained from peculiar seeds that are cypress trees<br>
<b>Vanilla</b> -Can be used to make chocolate. Obtained from peculiar seeds that are Vanilla plants.<br>
<b>Seed of Renewl</b> - Gathered randomly from any plant producing seeds. Used by imbuers. 



<b>Taking care of plants</b><br><Br>
